Let Go And Let God

Good morning,

2Chronicles 20:1-30, vs. 15, “… Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but Gods…”

Everyone at one point needs the hand of God in their lives whether they be believers or not, leaders or not. I see everyday how it is impossible to live in this cruel world without having God on my side. Everyday when I pray I continuously tell God that without Him, I am doomed. I look around and see many people who need the hand of God yet they do not want to admit it. Healing, deliverance, peace, joy, provisions and the like are the things people need everyday but who can provide them apart from God?

King Jehoshaphat, mark the word King at one point needed the hand of God in his life and so were the people he was leading as they faced three powerful Kingdoms coming against them. This was not a war initiated by King Jehoshaphat yet here it was. Ultimately his next move was to call on God for help when no one was around to give a helping hand. Psalms 46:1 always comes in mind when one is going through something and no one can help, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble”. There is power in prayer as it gives God permission to move in one’s life. So the king proclaims a prayer and fast all over his kingdom, adding fast to their prayer showed how desperate they needed God’s answer. Whenever we desperately need God’s hand in our lives, you may be moved to add fasting into your prayers. Those who are craving for God’s move will do desperate things, they will seek him fervently, earnestly, boldly, persevering, lingering etc

How amazing it is to hear the Lord say you don’t need to fight in a battle that is scheduled for you. A word comes from above telling them not to be afraid or dismayed because the battle is the Lord’s. I’m learning when I let go, He takes my hand and gently leads me and He lets me know how peaceful my life can be because He fights for me. The only times I fight the battles is when He promises me that His presence will be with me in the battlefield. When He tells me to stand still, it’s time to let go. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, Be still and know that I am God. Many people are not willing to let go because they don’t trust that if they let go this, they can get that and so they hold on to step one. Let go today that He may get you to step two. As the Lord fought for them, they praised Him. It’s good to bring a request before the Lord, but while you are in the waiting mode, find in your heart to thank Him in advance, praise Him like it’s already been done. What the Lord approves, it’s done even before anyone sees the results. Those who are not praising and thanking God open themselves to worrying as they constantly check to see if the Lord has already done it or not. As for these people, while they were praising and thanking God, they did not see how the Lord destroyed the enemies, all they saw was the result. At times I just need to get lost in praising and thanking Him and after it has been said and done, all I will need to do is see the results. After their enemies were destroyed, the king and his people marched to the battle ground and gathered the possessions of the enemy. They were more than conquerors that day because God conquered for them. They only desired victory over the enemy but the Lord gave them more than they asked for, Ephesians 3:20, “Now unto Him who is able to do exceeding, abundantly above all we ask or imagine according to the power that works within us”. You asked for little, He is giving you much for He is the God of abundance.

When we have called Him and it’s done, we will all be glad that we involved Him in our business for it is not by might nor by power but by my spirit says the Lord of host. Call Him in your situation today and choose this day to let go of everything you are holding onto as He is in control when things are out of control. When the enemy comes to you like a flood, the Lord will raise up a standard against him. When he shows you of what he is capable of, show him  what God is capable of and remind him of his future. Let go and let God!!Blessings Ev
